About Us
Hilltop Fiber was established in 2018 with a mission to produce beautifully naturally dyed yarn while respecting both the sheep that grow it and the land they live on.
What began as a small flock of three ewes has growing into a wool business, raising quality sheep and producing yarn that is dyed to reflect the beauty of the Pacific Northwest. Every step of the process, from the way we care for the sheep to growing and harvesting natural dyes and milling close to our farm, is done to showcase each breed as best as possible while maintaining a low impact on the Earth.
Our flock consists of Gotland, Merino, and Border Cheviot sheep. These breeds are used alone and are also carefully blended, creating durable, long-lasting yarn. Each of these breeds has a story to tell through its wool, and our yarns allow fiber artists to discover those stories.
At Hilltop Fiber, sustainability is the foundation of how we farm and create. We work only with natural fibers and dyes, using thoughtful production practices to create yarn that is both beautiful and eco-conscious.
